Projects
Westralian Nickel Ltd has focused it’s attention on two significant nickel sulphide prospects on adjacent locations in the Pilbarra, these are E45/1866 known as Highway and E45/2146 known as Supply Well. These licenses are situated across the Great Northern Highway, and located approximately 100 kilometres east of Port Hedland, which is the largest mining port facility in the world and approximately 20 klms from Goldsworthy, a former major Iron Ore deposit and town.

Exploration conducted by C.R.A (Rio Tinto) in the early 1990’s identified a low-grade, inferred nickel-copper resource, with a higher grade core. This area was never developed due to several factors including the very low nickel price.

However with significant and sustained increases in the nickel price over recent years along with radically improved exploration and metallurgical techniques, prospects of this nature have become increasingly attractive.

Objectives
The objective of the Company is to delineate sufficient nickel and copper sulphide reserves to allow the development of a mining operation on its two wholly owned tenements.
If sufficient reserves are delineated the Directors believe the proximity to Port Hedland, with the existing infrastructure and skilled workforce would provide the foundation for a cost effective mining operation.

Work in Progress
The company has recently conducted a limited EM survey of just two sections and has found 14 strong anomalies, some up to 1.2 klm in length. These are extremely encouraging to the board.
