Briggs – Executive Chairman
During the nickel stock market boom of the late 1960s, he owned a mining and exploration service company which gave him valuable experience in the industry. When he acquired Siberia Nickel Exploration NL in 1973, it marked the beginning of a long involvement in listed public companies. Since then, he has been involved with 30 listed companies with interests including oil and gas production in the USA, exploration and oil and gas drilling in the Middle East and Australia. He was instrumental in bringing into production the Marvel Loch, Pine Creek, Nevoria, Paringa and the Sons of Gwalia gold mines.
In the 1990s, Mr Briggs was the founding member and venture capitalist for the Matilda Bay Brewing Company Limited and, more recently, the successful AIM-listed nickel exploration company, European Nickel Limited.
His passion for motor vehicles saw him establish the York Motor Museum in 1979. The museum later won the Sir David Brand Award for tourism. Recently, he opened the Fremantle Motor Museum as a complementary tourist attraction.
He brings to the Company a wide range of business knowledge
and acumen, as well as 30 years of experience in the resource sector.
Dean Goodwin B/App Sci Geol (MAIG) –
Non Executive Director 
Mr Goodwin graduated from Curtin University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Geology). He spent 6 years with Western Mining Corporation Ltd in the capacity of mine geologist at the Vatakula Gold Mine in Fiji and later as exploration geologist at the Kambalda Operations. There he was involved in the discovery of the Intrepid, Redoubtable and Santa Anna gold deposits under Lake Lefroy and worked closely with the nickel exploration team. He later joined Resolute Ltd in 1994 as Senior Exploration Geologist spending 5 years in Kalgoorlie managing regional and brownfields exploration for the Chalice, Higginsville, Bullabulling and Bulong projects.
In 1999, Mr Goodwin was appointed
Senior Exploration Geologist with Lionore Limited at the Bounty Gold Mine operations
where he was responsible for the discovery of several small economic gold deposits.
Over the past 4 years, he has been working as an independent contract geologist
specialising in the exploration for nickel sulphides throughout Western Australia.
More recently he was appointed Managing Director of Barra Resources Ltd where
he has taken charge of the corporate and exploration activities of the company.
Recent exploration success has seen Mr Goodwin add significantly to Barra’s
market capitalisation over the past 5 months since his appointment.
Mr Goodwin’s strong technical skills developed while working with some of Western Australia’s leading exploration teams, together with hands on mining experience in the Eastern Goldfields and overseas, will provide Westralian Nickel Ltd with a great opportunity to move its project portfolio into production and setting a path towards identifying new projects.
Ray
Muskett B/App Sci Geol – Non Executive Director
Mr Ray Muskett, a graduate of the School of Mines,
Kalgoorlie is an experienced geologist in both mining and exploration. He presently
holds board positions in public companies, Falcon Minerals Ltd and Biodiesel
Australia Ltd.
He has over twenty five years experience in mineral exploration with a strong
emphasis on nickel, gold and gold-copper deposits.
He formulated various concepts and supporting databases on identification of Olympic Dam style ore bodies and other large volcanogenic gold/copper deposits as presently utilised by Falcon Minerals Ltd since November 2001 and is technical director of Falcon Minerals Ltd that has a 30% interest in the Collurabbie Nickel project in W.A.
In other fields of research via laboratory experiments he achieved commercially significant Australian and International patents in organic chemistry. He has worked for a variety of exploration and mining companies including Western Mining, the Kalgoorlie Lake View consortium (Kalgoorlie), Hamersley Exploration and CRA Exploration (diamonds), consulted to various companies including holding management roles in various open pit mining operations of Nevoria Gold Mines and exploration for Newmont and ran a nickel joint venture with Billiton Australia.
He was a consultant to Geographe Resources in 1992 (then named Newmex Exploration) when he acquired ground for Geographe and arranged exploration funding via a joint venture with Samantha Gold that lead to the Chalice gold discovery in September 1993.
